10 Things About Me

Last week I wrote about the purpose of my blog. I want my clients and potential clients to be able to connect with me not just as a photographer, but also as a person. I want to share a little about myself and my life, but I also want this blog to be a source of useful information to clients, brides and maybe even other photographers. Most importantly I want this to be a place where you, as the reader, can ask questions and give feedback. I would love to know what you think. For starters I thought I should introduce myself. Here are 10 Things About Me:

1. I am a follower of Christ. I believe in Him, trust in Him and I try my best to walk a life that would please Him. He is my rock, my fortress, my deliver, my strong tower. I thank him everyday for his many blessing and for His grace.

2. I have always been a creator. Ever since I can remember I've always loved crafting and creating. When I was young I use to draw and paint, when I was in high school I enjoyed sewing and making jewelry and I still enjoy and practice these things, but photography is my heart. Photography is so beautiful. It freezes time. It captures a moment that brings back feelings and memories. It tells stories that you can share with your loved ones. It's priceless.

3. I am a lover of all things old. Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong time period, but if you would ask me what decade would be my favorite I couldn't tell you. I love women's clothing from the 40s and 50s. It makes me think of my grandmothers and classy women. I love old music, but especially from the 60s and 70s. I would love to restore an old Camaro or maybe own an old Volkswagen van. They both make me equally as happy. Oh and I adore old houses. Just the idea of taking something old and restoring it back to it's original glory makes my heart smile.

4. Music is my fuel. Classic rock is definitely my favorite, but I love all kinds of music. I literally can't go a day without it. I come from a very music driven family. My Grandpa played the guitar and would sing to my Grandma, my Dad is a drummer who also plays the guitar and sings. Him and his brother had their own rock band when they were younger and they still play together, except now they play for Jesus. Not to mention I have a brother who can play literally anything. So I guess you can say it's in my blood.

5. I have seen every episode of Supernatural. That's right, all eleven seasons. I love love love that show! My husband was a fan for a while and I never wanted to watch it because it looked scary, but one summer I got on Netflix and binged watched the first 9 seasons. We currently own seasons 1-10.

6. If I had it my way I would always be travelling. My brain tells me play it safe, to have a "regular job" and for my husband to work everyday so we can build a house and have children, and I do want a house and children eventually, but in my heart I don't want a 9-5 life. If we were able and if it was up to me, we would be in a RV travelling the country, waking up to a new place everyday. That would be amazing.

7. I dream of Italy. But if I could go anywhere in the world it would definitely be Italy, specifically Venice!

8. I want a tattoo. I've been wanting one for a while, but I cannot make up my mind on exactly what I want and I don't want any regrets. It might also have to do with the fact that my pain tolerance is pretty low.

9. I'm a planner. I would like to think of myself as super spontaneous, and I do like an adventure, but in reality I would to plan out everything, or at least know all of my options before I do something. My husband is the total opposite, he can make a trip to the convenient store turn into a trip to the movies, lunch, the bowling alley, and then a sleep over at his brothers house. True store! I guess opposites really do attract.

10. I'm a dog lover. I have two and they are characters to say the least. Bella the bulldog and Bonnie the Aussie. I can't help but spoil them. They are my babies.
